The Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority’s 11-person Board of Directors is chosen entirely by representatives of the membership, which serves 42 cities and towns. Board members serve staggered, three-year terms and meet once a month. Seats up for election are put up to a vote each year at the Annual Meeting, held in the spring. Board members are typically city managers, mayors, electric directors or others integral to the utility systems in their community. Oklahoma Senate approval is not required for Board seat election. More on the history of the OMPA Board of Directors can be found on the OMPA website.
